right now my gouldian finches and star finches are sitting on eggs.
tonight I was in my bird room feeding the birds, I heard a weird noise. I turned around to see what it was.
I looked around the room and saw nothing unusual.
As I started to turn around to do one of the cages, I saw something out of the corner of my eye...it was a day old baby finch, wiggling around on the carpet!!!
I jumped up, picked it up gently and he was alive but cold. I turned the heater on, warmed him up a bit, and placed him in my society finch nest.
right now they are sitting on eggs as well. It's the best chance this little one will have for survival.
I went in a few minutes later and both parents were in the nest, hopefully keeping the baby warm.
I've lost too many babies from being tossed, fortunately I was in the room to give this one a fighting chance...I'm keeping my fingers crossed
