Parrots
None (just mom's Senegal, Tangie)
Hey, I forgot to introduce myself. Im reporter in NH(Portsmouth Herald) and local musician. I went bird-crazy when I was 9 years old and got Chalupa the cockatiel that year. She was the sweetest, never bit... But died after two months.

But my mother got bird crazy, too. Within a year we brought home Salsa Verde the Pacific parrotlet, Fenway the back capped conure (both babies) and Tangie the Senegal (he was 5 years old).

Tangie was bought for me, but they really all ended up my mom's birds. At 11, I wasn't mature enough to take care of a pet. Lol

Salsa and Fenway died, but Tangie remains my mom's last guy.

So now I've recently realized Id like my own bird now that im older. I have flexible work hours and tend to a home body, so I'll be around for the parrot . I'm fascinated with birds' intelligence, too, as well as how magnificent they look.

So I'm taking a year to read up, as well as reacquaint myself with birds via Tangie. I bet training him not to rip my hand off before buying and raising a baby pionus will be like swinging a baseball bat with a metal donut before stepping up to the plate. Lol. I can't wait to be the bonded human.

Thanks Flboy, I told mom we were definitely going to try it.

ToMang07, do you know any Pionus breeders somewhere between me and you? I'm taking some time to find the right one so I can visit each weekend.

Not aware of any breeders. I know a couple rescue/shelters, but I don't deal with breeders.

Welcome, I'm in Maine!

I don't know of any breeders other than Skittles breeder. I got her info from the pet store where I got Skittles.

You may be able to do that. Contact a pet store and see where they get their birds.
