Hey all,
Thought I would give everyone an update on Maui's progress. He's adjusted to his new home with complete ease and is completely fine with anyone and everyone picking him up and loving on him. Not much fazes him...so far. The vacuum? Meh. Loud, big and noisy dogs? Not even a flinch. He is starting to lose some of his baby clumsiness and is getting good at perching and better at getting around his cage. He is also starting to play with the toys in his cage and loves to have conversations in 'parrot talk'. He now laughs like a person and it seems like he is getting pretty close to saying actual words. He is learning step up and does it about 75% of the time now.
He also went outside for the first time today and got to soak up some sunshine and fresh air. You could tell it was an exciting, yet tad bit scary, experience for him. He came back in and got his first bath too and took it like a champ. He flapped his wings right from the get go and fluffed up.
He's also eating a ton more pellets and fresh fruits and veggies and getting less and less interested in formula.
He's been home for a week and a half and my baby's already growing up too fast.
