Harry budgie
I got Harry a swing today seeing how there is now room for one in his bigger house. He has tried to land on it a few times but flies away as soon as he touches it and finds that it moves. Does it usually take a while for a budgie to adapt to this scary thing?

Yes- not just budgies either. No worries!
The fact that he touched it or even went near it on day one means you have a brave bird.
Many would take more than a week.

He is brave!! Took mine a week to master the swing. So glad Harry is in his new lux digs!! What a great life he will be having with you

Yes, it may take a while, but trust me, Budgies LOVE swings!!! I've probably owned/bred a couple hundred American and English Budgies throughout my life, and every one of them had a swing in their cages, including all of the breeders...Harry will shortly be much appreciative of the swing...

New things take time. I haven't got a swing for my Parakeet yet but did buy a cat ball with a bell inside it and took my bird about 4 or 5 days and she plays with it now, for the first 2 days she would fly away soon as the bell made noise. Now you hear her move it and play with it all the time.
