Hey all!
Have you ever learned, long after the fact, that you had missed a thread from someone whose posts you always look forward to? On busy days, some threads can get bounced from the New Posts section before anyone even gets the chance to respond. Well, I'm wondering if it would be possible to have a subsection, similar to the subscribed threads section, dedicated to listing threads posted by certain of your selected friends.

A user could highlight people from their Friends or Contacts list for whose threads they would like to keep an eye out. This would cut down dramatically on the number of missed threads by valued friends.

And on a separate but related note, would it be possible to provide an option for marking threads that contain posts by these same selected friends? You know, much in the same manner that threads we have commented on are marked by green check marks? Maybe threads with one of your contacts can have a blue check or something.

Anyhow, I hope these 2 suggestions are feasible. Not much more to suggest than that. I'm already a fan of the forum as is.

I think thats a GREAT idea! There are certainly topics and members I miss posts on and wish I hadn't.

Hello, again!
One other suggestion that I forgot to mention. Would it be possible to create an option to bookmark a thread? Or add it to a list of favorites? There are times that I've read through threads that were particularly helpful, but then weeks or months later, I'm hard-pressed to find it again. Having the bookmark or favorites option would alleviate that, I believe.

In regards to the Bookmarks option, you might want to consider creating a BookMark Folder in your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer....) titled "Parrot Forums" and bookmark all your favorite threads into that folder?

Good idea, Monica! I'll try that out. Thanks!

I know what you mean about going back and finding a favorite thread. A couple months ago I started to bookmark threads and it works great. I didn't think about starting a tab for Parrot Form I just put them in my favorites.

I've got a Folder named "Birds" and just toss all bird related bookmarks into that folder.... and now I've got so many links in there, I need to scroll through all the links to view them all! :D I really need to sort them in categories such as training, feeding, behavior, neat stuff, etc!

I've been asked about this on another site recently and we haven't found a way to do it or at least vBulletin doesn't offer it. We will look into custom coding something, but it wouldn't be done anytime soon as it will take a lot of time.

Thank you for looking into it & letting us know :)

I very much appreciate you looking into it. It will be great if it can be done via custom coding, and I understand completely if that takes some time. I feel like it would be worth the wait. So no worries, and no rush.

Was just thinking about it.... Xenforo forum software does have a "Follow" system, although I think this is more like "Friends" than an actual follow. It is possible to have more people following you than you are following them, so if you "follow" someone, you don't automatically follow them back.

So it's more like you can follow people instead of having to accept a friends request.

Which I don't think solves a thing.....
