Hey! Kirby is still on a weight loss journey so he’s around 504g atm. We would love to get him a playstand to encourage him to scoot around a bit during the day (he really just doesn’t seem as motivated to move around the top of his cage as I had hoped) but I’m not sure what would be better.

His feet are still a little scaly and he does have vertebrae issues so it’s important he has good perch posture, and I’m not sure if vet wrapped PVC can achieve that. However, it’s obviously much cheaper.

Do your Amazons have a preference? Our tiel has a little baby java tree stand on my work desk and I had originally wanted a bigger version of it for Kirby but the one they had shipped into my local parrot store is $470, whereas a PVC one that’s furniture grade runs around $150-200.

My 36 year old BFA definitely prefers the wood to the PVC. I wonder if the wood has different width parts so he can move around and get comfortable. He is actually a little afraid of PVC. I guess because of the white color. Or perhaps he is so used to being on wood, he can't adjust.
