Man reunited with Macaw lost in divorce

awww that's so sweet! I love that he got his macaw back and everything is happily ever after :)

The last sentence made me laugh though

Macaws can live up to 50 years, according to the San Diego Zoo.

Lol that last sentence is so randomly there, they could have been at least like... Fun fact! Or something.

Very sweet story, but I was really disappointed when I read that the owner of the rescue or sancturary wouldn't even handle the bird because it bit her, what kind of owner is that she should know about situations like that and how to fix it, not just flat out don't handle the bird...

Glad to see the happy ending!

I love the story. Thanks so much for posting the link.

The birds must get so confused about things when they go through that - rescue, divorce "awarded" to a person that sold him, then to another person, then back to Papa.

"50 years"
How ingorant. The writer should have done a better job and at least googled it and checked at just one single authorative website.

would be nice to see him and the bird turn up on that lady's porch and beat her with a broom while the bird yells "hit her hit her again!"

I love happy endings:D

Ummm....... WHAT?!?!??!??!

Was the bird stolen or lost in a divorce?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

After years of searching, man reunites with beloved pet | Local News - Home

BUTTE, Mont. -
For the first time in a half a decade, Mike Taylor sees his bird Love Love

"I've been kind of looking for him this whole time," Taylor said.

The 25 year-old macaw he'd owned for years was stolen from his home in Great Falls, he said. Taylor spent more than five years searching.

"I've always kind of looked on Craigslist and everything," he said, about his efforts to find Love Love.

Then last week, Taylor's friend Steve Campbell told him something that gave him hope.

"I said, 'No I know that's your bird," Campell recounted. He said he saw Love Love at Montana's Parrot & Exotic Bird Sanctuary (MPEBS) in Butte.

..........

Glad it had a happy ending
I wonder what the Macaw thought after being reunited.

Divorced, then the disgruntled ex spouse sold the bird.

Great story! Don't Macaw's live for 60 to 80 years?? I have read 50 in captivity. Not sure how accurate that is. I hope mine lives past 50! :)

goalerjones, the other article states that the macaw was stolen, not lost in a divorce....

I think all the other news place got the story wrong as Monica's post is a local news channel and got a video along with it. What a wonderful story!!!!! If my birds were stolen from me I would be heart broken and be searching for them everywhere like he's been doing. I feel much better now days ever since I had an alarm system installed....
