I started training Bubbles and it is going well. She seems to love it. I have also noticed, and I'm not sure if it is related or not but since I have started working with her she has really started loving being petted and when you start to pet her she flips over on her back. She acts like a little puppy. I was quite surprised for her to start doing this as I have only had her about 6 weeks. I have some little videos but they aren't very good. It is awkward kind of although getting better as I have never had the opportunity to pet and rub a bird in this way so I'm not sure how to do it. LOL. I feel silly not knowing how but my other bird is an African grey and he will not even come close to acting like that. He wants scratched on his head and that is it.
So, after Tab's advice on a previous thread (Thank You Tab) I started working with Bubbles. She refuses to work out on the floor so I use the back of the couch and that is working for the most part but she likes to try to take bites out of the couch so I need to start working with her on a stand. Anyway, I usually work with her in the morning for a few minutes on days I have time and then sometimes a few minutes in the evening. My sessions are only about 3 minutes always less than 5 and sometimes only 2. I am using clicker training and so far that is working great. I did start with getting her to touch a pencil which she was terrified of at first LOL but now she will go anywhere to touch the pencil. She has also learned to spin and now she will do it with me saying spin and using a hand signal. We are now working on the wave and she is just starting to get the hang of it. I am so happy to have here she is very sweet, but since she was 1.5 when I got her she has some issues from where she used to be.
She can cry like a baby and hates to hear a baby cry. It is kind of freaky to hear a bird sound like a little baby. She also seems to being saying some naughty words but I really hope they go away soon because we don't talk like that.
Anyway, I just wanted to update you on how we are doing. I will try to add a picture.
