Ya, mine is a Yellow Shouldered Amazon.. She is from Venezuala origanally and 13 inches long. Small Amazon but still lives 70 years or longer. I was fortunate enough to get her handfed. With any Amazon, they will bite occassionally. There is no perfect timid Amazon. We that own Amazons know this well. Example Sassy's aggressive mood is pretty much her excited mood. Tail feathers fan out, eyes get bright orange, feathers ruffle up... But if she is in her cage and acting this way, well I tend to take it as she will bite.. So I will leave her alone. When out of the cage and on my stomach playing, she hunkers up and fans her tail too. But she is excited. Just need to tell which is excited and which is aggression. But while training Bobby, it is important to get him out, when you want to train him. Leaving him in his cage at this time, could make him think that when biting that you will leave him alone. You do not want this. But after years of getting Bobbie out of his cage, you will learn which is excitement and aggression.
