It has been a frustrating week at our house, but tonight I am walking on air.
Lets start with Blue, my blue female IRN. Blue has been difficult. It usually seems like she is being that way on purpose. She is no longer afraid of hands, but generally refuses human interaction. I have been working very hard with her and tonight we FINALLY saw results! It was like all of the sudden she went "weeeeellll, I guess this human girl isn't leaving so, might as well make the best of it." And just like that, she now steps up again, rides on shoulders, and takes treats. Can I get a WOOT WOOT!!!
Also, Scout, my turquoise male IRN, has had an attitude lately. My removing Blue from the bird room (because I have been dragging her around on a wheely play stand with me everywhere I go) seems to have nipped that in the bud
Next, Cache =D My female yellow sided GCC. Cache's previous owners trimmed her beak and wings every six weeks. Among other things, she is ultra vigilant- she throws herself backwards at every little thing, and because of her severe clip she plummets to the ground like a rock. Well tonight we had SEVERAL victories First, she rode on our shoulders. Not one shoulder, but THREE different people! She has always panicked on shoulders and hurled to the ground. Also, she allowed me to stretch her wings out, once each, while she was on her back. On her back seems to be the only time she relaxes. She also let me give her scritches on her head, neck, and cheeks while she was UPRIGHT which is another first. Usually she is too nervous relax her feathers for scritches
So, lets just say that I had a great night With three people, a dog, 3 GCCs, and 2 IRNs in the livingroom, I am happy
