Has anyone had this type of setup before?

My other half really doesn't want me getting a macaw as he's worried about the impact on our sennie (I'm sure thats just one of his excuses anyway) but I know I've stumbled across people who have a similar style setup here!

When Merlins out, budgie's are caged, when budgie's are out, Merlins caged/out of the room.

If you have a similar type thing please could you let me know a bit about your life style and how you are with you birds and the time you get to spend with each and how they all get along etc :)

well i have a similar set up with a conure, too, macaw and galah. angel's cage is in the living room where as the others is in the "bird room" this is because when willow and mimsy scream it upsets angel and starts her off so i have to shut the doors between them to lessen the noise!

willow and mimsy come out together and play in the bird room, they have a stand and toys hanging from the ceiling. while they're in there playing angel is usually with me, she sits on my shoulder as i do jobs and then we play and have a cuddle. she comes in and out of her cage throughout the day until about 5 when rocky comes out.

rocky isn'y very playful, whenever he is out he will literally sit on your shoulder and not move until its bedtime, so he comes out for "mummy" time in the evenings.

i have an old sofa in the bird room so i can go and sit in there and watch willow and mimsy and we have a cuddle and play together.

its only mimsy and angel that hate each other, but keeping them seperate works well!

angel and willow get on quite well, so there is no reason a senegal and macaw wouldn't too xx

Fantastic, and picture evidence too! I've just gone and spoke to my local breeder about macaws... but I'll be making a thread about that.

Nice to see your conure and macaw getting along so well, I'd be so worried with that big beak, I guess slow and steady introductions are whats needed :)
