macaw harness question

hey does anyone have any experience of harnessing macaws?? I bought a harness as i thort it would be nice to take her out to spread her wings but she wont let go of me... she just sits there... she wont even go to my husband whos her favorite human:09: ... ant feedback would be great

I used on on Sweepea when she was little. Not as an adult. Once she was recalled I stopped using it. She was never very fond of it.

There is a video somewhere of how to get it on them relatively painlessly...

I don't recall where it is, though. Anyone?!

Training her to appreciate the harness would be better than just putting it on. I think Howcast has a video on it. Just look up Howcast how to put on a bird harness. Pops right up!

The video Mark (Birdman) posted is a GREAT one!

Of course a bird (any bird) would have to be de-sensitized to the harness first.
