When I first got Mac in July of 2011, He had been plucking his feathers on his legs and was almost bare up to his chest. Plus he was overpreening himself to the point that he barely had any tail and wing feathers at all.
Even the Bird groomer commented as to how chewed up his feathers were. But this was due to sychological reasons since his previous owner had just passed away and the fellows wife started a new job and had to lock him up for 10+ hours a day, which he wasn't used to.
Well, Mac has full leg feathers again and has been leaving his tail and wing feathers alone for the most part. I think it has helped since he has formed such a strong bond with me and I also take him in the shower with me almost every other day and give him showers. He wasn't used to regular baths before coming to me.
