Hello! I'm not sure if any if you remember but I lost my very first beloved and best friend a year ago. I promised myself I wouldn't get another medium bird unless it was a blue crown. Which my local breeder only has one breeding pair. I chose the blue crown because I feel the general personality traits would fit with mine more than others. I absolutely loved my sun conure. He was basically my best friend and he was extremely playful and curious about EVERYTHING lol. But I recently saw an add on craigslist for a lutino ring neck. When I was originally doing my years of research before getting my sunny I was actually wanting to get a ring neck. I changed my mind because I'm kind of a touchy person and enjoy showing affection by giving scratches and preening them and all that fun stuff. But anyway this person bought him a year ago tried to match him with his lutino female and she didn't want to. He's not tamed and he doesn't know if he was hand reared. I would love to give him a forever home it's just I'm not sure if the universally independent personally will mix well with mine. What do you guys think I should do?? I'm at a loss right now, there are so many things running through my head about it. I don't want to take him only to find out it's not working out. I don't really get to see if he likes me because he isn't tamed. But then again I did see this untamed gcc once and ended up giving him scratches in half and hour lol so it is possible I'm just nervous I guess

Only YOU can say if you want that big of a challenge. You know a completely wild already older IRN won't have the type of personality of your late Sun. Why not hold out for the BCC you REALLY want? Just because you admire IRNs and you know someone getting rid of one doesn't mean you have to take it you know? I PERSONALLY see that you should pass on this. That's my opinion :)

I would have to suggest the same as RavensGryf. It would be lovely for the bird to get a good home with you but here's why it makes me a little worried. I have a young lutino who I hand fed and have worked with a lot in the time I've had her (only since late June). Even with her being so young and me starting working with her right away, I'm having a very hard time. I also have a conure and can say this is a WAY bigger challenge than I had training her. If a blue crown is your dream pet, I would really hold out for it if I were you.
