two Lovebirds, Weenie and Luna
So I have had weenie and Luna for about 5 hours and they haven't touched their seeds. I got them from a breeder and this is my first time owning birds so is it normal? I bought high quality sprouting seeds and i cut up some grapes and cucumbers. It was a 5 hour drive from where they were to a feather show where i got them from so does it take time for them to start eating? they haven't drank either. :25:

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, I'm glad I just read this thread!

YAYYYYYY!!!!

I would like to talk you into feeding a high-quality pellet as the basic staple. If you're interested, many of us here will be happy to tell you our faves. I'll start...
I love Harrison's, supplemented by fresh healthy treats. My first and current avian vet recommended it. My bird loves the pellets now, but to get him converted, my avian vet suggested putting pellets out all day, and putting seeds (his old diet) out for two 15-minute periods a day. That would sustain him but leave him hungry. He was eating pellets in a couple of days, and now I can feed a good variety of other stuff, knowing he has the pellets as a basic.

thanks! I totally forgot about pellets

I use Roudybush. Early LOVES it. She gets several nutriberries a day out of her cage and lots of assorted fruits and vegetables. Pasta, rice, meats, as we eat them. Her pellet is the only thing thats in her cage full time, and she eats a big helping when she wakes up, and goes to sleep.

I went out to the store yesterday and bought Harrisons :D thanks!

I'm glad they are eating:) Please don't remove all the seeds as that is what they are used to. My lovies get a seed/pellet mixture:)
Did you get them from Featherfest in Calgary?
