All my rescues: Pepita, Rocky and Eva, my Quaker Parrots Clover and Sweet Pea, YNA Willie Buttons, and TAG Coca.
This morning around noon, a female CAG flew off her owner's shoulder and was carried away by the wind. Location: Hwy. 141 and Marshall Road, by Varietees Birds Store (the CAG was on the way to have a feather trim).

Her name is LOLA, she is fully flighted and either still around the levee on either side of the Meramec River in Valley Park, or the wind carried her towards Fenton. If anyone lives in these areas please keep an eye out for her. Should you see her, please contact me here or contact Varietees Birds Store.

I so hope Lola is returned home safely.

Please, if anyone in the area hears so much as a rumor about a CAG being found or sighted contact Giggleagain or Varietees Birds Store.

Been a few hours,any updates?

I don't know how long and how far they searched yesterday right after Lola flew away, but we went out to find some kind of signal when we searched last night. Unfortunately there was no sign of her in the surrounding area. I think the wind carried her quite a bit.

A small group of us parronts who frequent the store and known the owner (or have heard of this case) are meeting at 7:00am this morning for a search of nearby levees, parks, and wilderness areas we believe the wind could have carried her to. The bad news here is the weather, it was only 47° over night.

It's not looking good. We are only a few - and the area is large.

No luck. No trace. Hopefully flyers will help. I'm praying for warmer weather, if only for the next few days. Searching was pretty miserable. Wet feet, cold hands, shiver... shiver... I was wearing 3 layers. How many layers does a bird wear? :(

Oh no! I'm sorry Lola wasn't found. If she's well socialized it's possible someone took her in, hopefully they are looking for Lola's family. Plaster the area with those flyers and don't lose hope. Lola is wearing cold weather gear, every feather designed to protect.

Day 4: it rained all day yesterday, all night, and most of the morning. Temperature over night tonight is only 39°. Lola was seen a couple of times but refuses to come down to her owner. Unfortunately the area - although a large park and wild area - is frequented constantly by people and cars. By now she must be desperate for food. How long do you think she can survive like this? When do we need to give up hope?

Don't give up! Bring her cage there! If she is a bell ringer, play with her noisiest toy!

Update: no Lola :( I can't even remember all the things we did, # of flyers we posted, # of hours we searched. The owner finally changed the flyers and added the word *REWARD*. Besides crank calls, among them one threatening to eat the bird if she didn't deliver money to the closest chinese restaurant, there were no responses. We set up a go fund me account in case someone does find Lola. If she isn't found, the money will go to rescue organizations.
