Green Bean appears to not be eating much at all. In addition; we've noticed some increased feather loss and much less vocalization. Can molting be a cause of these symptoms? Birds are so difficult to care for and I worry about her constantly... as I know that when they are symptomatic; it usually means something serious is going on.
Any thoughts ???
I am in the Paducah, Kentucky area now and no local avian specialists.

When in doubt, a vet visit is a good idea!

Can you call around to the local vet offices and see if any of them might know a vet that treats birds????

Much to my surprise and so thankful to report; she is about 180 degrees difference today. Much more vocal, playful and ate her breakfast, a little at lunch and 3/4 of her dinner.
Birds are so, so difficult to care for........ I love my little bird with all my heart; yet I live in constant fear that something will happen to her! The slightest of sneeze, the little difference in her actions sends me into panic mode. I guess it's because as the saying goes; if birds become symptomatic, it's almost always severe and/or life threatening. How do you folks do it? Is your parrot(s) perfectly healthy every single day for 70 years straight ??? So confused and now that I live in a more rural place with no avian specialist less that a two hour drive; I worry even more.
Just want to see my little Green Bean live a very happy, long life.
I've had pets before but she sure is special to me.

I think it's pretty common to be a bit paranoid about our bird's health. Sometimes I need to remind myself to visit with them before I check vital signs. You'll get more comfortable but Probably continue to worry.

Good to hear that Green Bean seems herself again. I remember you had some biting issues with her a while back. I hope that things are better for you now.

Glad to hear she's doing better! :) I think it's normal to be worried. Just remember that you are clearly doing whatever you can. You're obviously watching her closely so she couldn't be in better hands.
