Rainbow Lorikeet
Hello,
My partner and I have gotten a 11week old Hand reared Rainbow lorikeet. We havent owned him long but I am unsure of the way he acts when he is out of his cage.

We get him out of the cage every chance we get and he only seems interested in cuddling up around our neck. I myself wear a the hood on my jumper and he will run straight from my hand to either inside the hood or be on top of my head. I think he may just be cold and want the heat but I on his misson to get to my neck ill stop him and move him back a bit but it doesnt matter where he is he will run straight to us and climb straight to the same spot.

again this could be just something he is doing still being only 11 weeks old but I just would like some advise if its just my concerned over nothing and he will grow out of it.

I think it's just a spot he likes to be. Before you guys got him, he was probably allowed and encouraged to snuggle up around their necks etc and he's just continuing the behaviour with you!

When I got mine (they were 15 weeks) they were both determined to be on my shoulder or on my head. I spent a lot of time with one on my shoulder and one on my head lol. And the hood thing sounds pretty normal. My conure is obsessed with the hood of my hoodies :p When i'm not wearing one he'll scramble around my back/neck looking for it lol. With the Lorikeets though, I think I would prefer mine to be snuggled up in my hood/around my neck rather than constantly having fuzzy tongues invading my nose and ears hahaha.

He'll probably grow out of it a little bit as he gets older and more adventurous.

Hes a baby , Im sure he feels safe there :)
