Plucking without visible signs of other issues or problems could mean that he is stress from your move. Plucking with visible signs of something ( your red swollen lump in is neck chest area) means a visit to a Certified Avian Vet - NOT a dog and cat type vet. Bird illnesses and issues are completely different from mammal problems. A Certified Avian vet will know the correct diagnosis and treatment, while a dog and cat vet will not.

I would strongly urge you to set that visit up right away, so your Grey does not get this plucking to be a habit. Good Luck!

Yes, you should definitely take him in to see the vet. A Certified Avian Vet if possible. While plucking can be behavioral, sometimes there is a medical cause. And as Al mentioned, if the medical cause isn't addressed swiftly, his plucking response to a medical issue could become a psychological habit that is notoriously hard to break.

Not to mention that there could actually be a serious medical problem.
