So I found this Belgian Malinois pup running around in the Walmart parking lot tonight.

I took her inside to get them to page the owner, which they did several times until I finally gave up and left, with my phone number at the customer service desks. I also went to the employee's working to doors and told them that if someone came asking about the dog I had left my number at the desk.

Animal control is closed and I don't want her to go to the pound anyway. The emergency vet is the only place open at this hour with a microchip scanner, and theirs is broken. A freind who has a mal herself reached out to some breed specific contacts in my area for me.

So she is spending the night at our house.

Almost everyone else would say she's a GSD puppy or some other sort of mix! LOL

Them maligators are adorable as pups!

Oh I'm quite sure she is a mal, or I guess a mal GSD would be possible.

Maligators! Ha! So appropriate! It would probably be better for them not to be so darn cute; they really aren't suited to most pet homes!

Ha! So perfect! She is so far the picture of lady like manners; someone has been working with her. I'm confident her family will show up soon!

Nina, my dog was hit by a car as a child; I CANNOT ignore stray dogs no matter how ugly. This little angel would have even the most dedicated cat person bending over backward to help her. It's going to be tough to hand her over when her owners show up!

But she has excellent manners already and appears to be crate trained. Aside from the fact that she seems to have fallen into a puddle immediately before meeting me, she is in excellent physical condition. Someone loves this dog and I'm absolutely sick for what they must be feeling right now.

She isn't chipped and no one has reported her missing. If she isn't claimed in 2 weeks she is legally mine.

But I need a mal pup like I need a hole in the head. We are currently trying to find a foster through the Mal club.

Hopefully you will be more successful in finding her humans than I was in finding JellyBean's original humans. And if you're not, hopefully you can quickly find her a great new home!

Morning! If I may... Id have to say, this pup is definitely a Belgian breed and there's a good possibility he is a Belgian Tervuren... He has quite a long, thick coat for a Mal. (Especially at that age.) His coloring is also true to Belgian breeds. See his white-tipped tail? Thats also a Terv trait, along with his big ears. I'm not convinced of a GSD mix just yet. (I love Tervurens btw, thus my bias towards the possibility.)
Keep us posted!
And thank you for your kind heart! This baby is in good hands! ;)

I suppose I should have told you guys when she left to go to her foster home lol. We were not the right home and we surrendered her to a breed specific rescue.

My friends who have a Mal posted this week, Abby won 1st at the Dueling Dogs World Championships! THEY are a great home for a Mal, but we would not have been. There was some major temptation though, especially with how sweet Abby is!
