Maroon-Bellied Conure
HI! Im from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and I am the Proud owner of a 1.5-2 yr old Maroon-Bellied Conure named Kiwi (boy, picture below). so i'll most likely be in the conure section for the most part. This is not the first bird i've had. I used to have a 7-8 yr old Male Cocketiel named Cosmo who sadly died of heart failure. he was trained like a hawk... literally, i got him to chase a lure and fly low then almost straight up to my hand... He sang, danced, never stopped talking, he truly was the best bird ever:yellow1:... now, kiwi, he's a different story... but i'll save that for the conure section...

Here's Kiwi:

We welcome you and Kiwi. He is so cute. They tell me conures can be a handful. I do not have one but there are lots of members who do. Thanks for sharing photos.

ya, he's quite the handful, we're very attached! He's very Picky and loves his almonds. if only I could train him like I did Cosmo... He also loves his playground.

Welcome on board, sure you going to feel right at home.
Browse around, many interesting topics.

thanks Ben! Love that pic of the male eclectus!!! I'd love to get one, but they are hard to find here and are on the $$$ side. i will get a couple though, maybe a pair. what's their behaviour like???

Thanks, they are great birds. I would say behaviour is very docile in comparison to most birds their size, but they are still very active and inquisitive. Most people underestimate their intelligence as they are very shy at first. Eddie was hand raised and has never bitten anyone (although he did nip me once - my fault though). Sweet as pie really and make great companions. They do have demanding dietary requirements though.

All the best
