Living with a fledgling

My bronze wing pionus is now 9 weeks old and quickly took to flying. He's hovering between 3 and 2 feedings a day (when on 2 a day he seems very needy for me still, but doesn't eat much during his noon feeding when on 3), but playing around with pellets, I find a few in the waterdish every day. He still refuses solid foods from me wanting only formula.

Problem is now all he wants to do is fly the moment the cage is open or hes on my finger, and only to places where I have to get a chair to get him down, then he proceeds to scream and bite at me. It's getting hard feeding him because of this, and since he's not taking treats I'm unsure how to train him. I can't have him out with me because he prefers being as high as possible, and he still cries for food whenever he sees me. He does not like being touched at all either.

Is this still normal baby behaviour? I don't mind him not being cuddley, but I want to be able to have him out without him crying the entire time or playing keep away. I would love to keep him flighted, but its getting hard keeping him safe without a way to train him. I'm hoping as he gets older and closer to being weaned he becomes a bit more workable and less of a very mobile baby!

Hey twisted, this is not my species. However i do have advice when dealing with fledgelings. They are still food motivated so let him be when perched up high. Don't persuade him, he'll get hungury and decide to come to you. Give him a little more "space" and see if he doesn't "decide " to seek you out.

first time i have seen a picture of one he is a beautiful bird love the colors:D

Problem is for most days his first two feeding I have time limits that he outlasts, and he would sleep up there instead of in his cage at night if I let him. Would it be better keeping him in the cage when I cant spend hours waiting for him to come to me and work with him in there to come to me for food?
