I gave the pretty chicken a shower this morning, I usually try to at least a couple times a week. I usually put her on my hand and stick my arm in the shower, and she knows what time it is, she will start fluffing up and spreading her wings out before I even get to the shower.

I've tried setting her on the floor of the tub before, so she could go in and out of the water as she wants, but she would just sit and wait for be to pick her up. However, persistence pays off! This morning I set her on the floor of the tub and it was like a little kid playing in a sprinkler. She would spread her wings and run up to the water and bite at it. Then she would back up, spread her wings, and run back and forth through the water. After a few times, she would find a good place where the water was comfy, and would just sit and soak a little. Then she would go back to running through it again. It was hilarious! I wish I would have had my phone so I could get it on video.

I reached over her to shut off the water, and she tried to bite me. I had to pick her up with my other hand that didn't take away her shower. She was not happy to be done. :D

I'm glad the pretty chicken enjoys her baths! It always makes me giggle to watch a parrot dance in the rain!

Awesome success! Venus acts like she doesn't know what to do when I take her in the shower. Now give her a tiny bowl of water and she's game, lol! Good success with the pretty chicken!

I bet that was precious! I hope you can get a video when she does it the next time. Ekko loves to be misted but is terrified of the shower. I hope we can make some progress on that like you have with your Pretty Chicken:)

And it must just be the shower she likes.

It was really warm and sunny a couple days ago, so I took her outside in her travel cage and used the hose. I tried it on mist first, and she wasn't interested.

So then I put it on shower and let it fall from above, and she still wasn't interested. She wasn't afraid, but just didn't care. I think she likes her showers a little warmer.
