Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to report my little Sidney is doing well!

I got him in his flight suit last month! It was a bit challenging and I haven't had time to do it again. I think I may try an Aviator Harness instead as it was difficult to get him in the flight suit and he picked at it to death. Here are some picks! Here is my blog post.

The Sweet Life Of A Parrot: Sidney In A Harness/Flight Suit!!

Morgan, my daughter, finally held him for the first time in the beginning of August.

Here are some more pics of him just hanging out. Here is my blog post:

Sidney goes for a walk! This is before I got the harness on him. Here is my blog post:

Very cute photos! Great to see everything going so well!

Sidney is sooo cute! Yes, I too have 2 flight suits, one for our little green cheek and one for our pigeon. I will admit, it's MUCH easier to get it on our pigeon than it is our conure, but both do very well in it. Franklin, (conure) at first did a lot of picking at his flight suit too...but I just tried to get him "busy" right away to distract him from it. I want him thinking flight suit means FUN!

I was really good at taking him bye bye with me all the the time, then we moved and our schedules changed and now I don't get him out and about like I used to. I'm sure when I go to put his suit on him in the future, it will be a bit challenging the first few times, but hopefully the little 'smarty feather' will quickly remember why he used to wear it. LOL

Gil also picks at the flight suit. He now hates the hoodie. I was going to make him wear it the other day for our walk to be extra warm but he was totally not into it. Lol.

Hey! You've got a Gilbert! Cool! Great pics.

Is that the pigeon in the last pic??

Skittys Daddy Yep, that's our house Pigeon, Belle...I named him Belle before I found out she was actually a he! LOL

He was a young pigeon who was inured in a parking lot in the big city. He couldn't fly and could barely walk...I couldn't just leave him, so hubby and I "stole" him and brought him over 100 miles to our house! We intended to heal him up and release him, but when release time came, he refused to leave our hands! My husband tried to perch him up on a tree branch and he just rolled back into my husbands hands onto his back and my husband said...well...he doesn't want to leave. I said, good!

We've had him for 6 years now I think...he's and awesomely fun pet!

Blanca, Sidney is adorable in his flight suit. I hope that over time he'll get accustomed to it and agree to wear it more! Good to hear he's doing well and opening up to Morgan too :).

Toni, cute pic of Belle on his back in a harness! I love how he refused to perch on a branch to fly away, and rolled back onto your husband's hand on his back. What a sweet story lol. He deesperately wanted to be a pet!

Thanks for sharing how your conure does with his flight suit. I guess I just need to keep trying and things will get better! Love your pics and Belle's story. :)

Lol! Glad to know I am not alone! I got a hoodie but haven't tried it yet. It's getting cooler, we shall see. Lol!

Thanks Julie! I just need to keep doing it. I'm hopeful he will adjust! Fingers crossed. ;) Hopefullyargan and Sidney will spend a lot more time together. :)

I just think that's so cool, having a pigeon for a pet. Good for you and your hubby for rescuing him.

I had a friend a few years back who had his own trailer and had a pet duck. I used to love to wrap my arms around the ducky, his feathers were so soft.

He is my first conure. I know what everyone means now about conures being loud. Lol! He's an adorable little booger though! Making the noise worth it. ;)

What kind of conure did you have Chris?
