Some of you may have read my other threads about how Lily was constantly attacking and charging at my boyfriend when entering the room and I found out why. Her cage was in our room when we got her (we have a very large room) and being a first time large bird owner, I let her go u see the covers in my bed every morning[emoji51] She very quickly claimed our bed as her nesting area and became very territorial of it. Since her last visit to the vet, I learned that it is not good to let them go under covers. So, about 2 weeks ago, we moved her cage downstairs and her behavior completely changed. She is no longer aggressive and is sweet with everyone. I don't pet her as much anymore and try to do more playing with her, she is no longer allowed to "nest" under covers anymore and I think this has helped in a number of ways. Since moving her downstairs she realizes that she no longer has the power that she once had when her cage was upstairs, it seems like she felt it was her "territory". The way these birds think just baffles me and I'm learning more and more every day. If anyone has had any similar experiences or suggestions let me know! These birds have a highly complex way of thinking! Wow!! And also, Lily is done with her anti-biotics and is a happy girl again! Yay!
