Well, as the days get colder and dimmer where we live, I want to make sure that our Macaw gets the right kind of light.

I’d be interested in finding out what other members are using?

I bought a small “full spectrum” bulb but I find it is just too small to do the job.

Should I be installing 48” fluorescent - the daylight type (5000K +)?

Any feedback would be welcome.

Hm... You can come live with me in Honduras, LOL--the dang equatorial sun won't stop shining here! ;)

Haha! Now, there’s an idea! Can my CAG tag along too? :D

That would most definitely brighten things up a whole lot. :D

I use 'Swag Lights' for my big macs, something like these:
Brite105 Featherbrite Full Spectrum Pagoda Swag Light - FULL SPECTRUM LIGHTING

And I just plopped the following light bulbs in there and am quite happy with them:
Shop SYLVANIA 13-Watt (75W Equivalent) 5,000K A19 LED Dimmable Daylight LED Bulb at Lowes.com

Winter's when it finally cools down enough to go outside around here...

It's too friggin' HOT most of the year. So mine use ordinary sunshine...
