So Paris HATES water, I mean to the point she is sure she will melt away into a little puddle of nothingness but sticky sweetness...I have tried spraying her (OMG ITS ACID!!!!! ) I have tired to get her in the sink.( I DON'T WANA BE A NUGGET!) I have stood in the shower holding a panicking Macaw while trying to not get my fingers ventilated (I DON'T WANT TO GO DOWN THE DRAIN! )

Any helpful ideas? She comes in and stands on the shower bar every morning and watches me shower. So its not a fear of the stall. She watches the other birds splash in there dishes and get sprayed. I though macs liked water?!

Fargo absolutely HATES being misted, like you said, he thinks it is acid ;)

He wont go in a bowl or sink.. But he likes a shower perch.. The first maybeeee 3 months, i would put him on the shower perch, and he just stood there, acting like this was a massive punishment, but FINALLY he realised that it was fun, and since then he flaps and loves his showers!

Have you tried a shower perch?

My macs have to be forced OUT of the shower... not in it.

My CAG though... same deal. I make him shower anyway once per week.

None of the macs I have owned or fostered were at all shy about bathing... So I never had this particular problem with a mac. Other birds, yeah.

I have to be honest.
The title was misleading XD (sorry I just got home from class so my mind is still in the gutter (thank you my friends ) )

My lovebirds are the same, but they will go into their water bowls and bathe.
Or when I say bath time and put a bowl of water in their cages, they go crazy.

:green1:

hmmm......
I know when Gilbert first started to shower, i would stand him in the shower to watch me and just get steamy. After a while i would have him step up and bring him near the water but not where it was spraying on him. I started to cup my hands and let a little water pool at his feet and spritz up at him. He started making his happy sounds so i let him go for it. He tends to be a water lover though, so he wasn't really pre-disposed to disliking showers. (he bathes in his water bowl, in the sink, tries to jump in the bath water with me.....)
