Leaving birds alone for the night

What is advice on leaving birds alone for a little longer than 24 hours? From 10:00 in the morning until 3 the next day....if plenty of food and water would they be ok? They are used to being out of their cages all day but they do sleep in a different room in cages all night for 12 hours. Anyone done this?

Many of us leave our birds for a day or two though it is usually harder on the parent than the bird

I assume yours are in separate cages?

And I can honestly say that I have never had to rescue a parrot in their cage in over 43 years.

Yes they are in seperate cages with plenty of toys....and i have lots of dishes for extra food...it would be for about 30 hours...noon saturday till 5 on sunday

I PERSONALLY, would not leave mine without a sitter for more than 14 hours (or overnight--post bed-time)-granted, she is a cockatoo and they are kind of extreme...That is not to say that bird owners never do... Mine gets covered and uncovered on a schedule and she also needs her water changed etc. Plus, she needs to get out of her cage at least 1x daily for 3 hours MINIMUM, so this would never be possible in my world, even though I wish it were. She is independent as cockatoos go, but she still gets herself into trouble, and she is so in need of social interaction, so I just wouldn't be comfortable leaving her that long...at least, at night, she is generally sleeping, but in the daytime, she does weird stuff sometimes and so it is (in my opinion) important to be aware that they could get tangled or stuck etc.

Don't get me wrong, I work-- but I just can't imagine her waiting and waiting for me to come home and no one ever coming to cover her, and no one ever coming to feed her dinner...I know my bird PERSONALLY would be very upset by the isolation, but again....cockatoo vs. other parrots may be the difference.

I have a quaker, IRN and a BF Amazon. There have been times I am gone for the day and night and my husband takes care of them and leaves at 6 in the morning and doesnt get home until 6:30. So they have been in the cage all night for sleep and then until 6 the next day due to his work schedule. I am thinking this might be almost the same thing or kinds close.

I was just talking about me and my bird- if it works for you and you have done it, then do what you do. I get it..again, U2 probably is the difference.
