Our new cag, 9 yr old rescue, now has his own spacious cage and toys. He's coming out of his shell. I am so touched watching him open up and begin playing. It's clear this one at one time was handled and played but he seems to have forgotten. Today he slowly began climbing and exploring.

Makes me happy to see him come to himself.

He eats most good things so far and enjoys handling...so thankful he is in our care.

That is wonderful news! I don't think there is any feeling like the one you get when your rescue/rehome starts feeling comfortable enough to be himself.

Yes, it is very satisfying! Today I added a few toys and introduced new foods. Food is not too much of a problem but he takes time warming up to play. He still moves around very deliberately and slowly, a bit fearful but wanting to engage so much! He holds his foot out waiting to be held and making all kinds of cool sounds. We are making progress.
