Léa is my 4 1/2 month old Cape parrot. Today marks her first month living with me!

Léa isn't a "true" Cape parrot per se, as she isn't the nominate Poicephalus robustus. She's truly a Grey headed parrot (or Poicephalus fuscicollis suahelicus) but since the term UnCape never really took off and that most people don't bother seeing the difference, I stick with calling her a Cape parrot.

I've wanted one for years and it was always at the top of the "dream parrot" list. Finally, when I learned that a breeder I had been in contact with for years had eggs in April, I took the plunge.

Here are some pictures of her (and there are many MANY others on my blog).

I think she is!
Her first week here was something..I hadn't had a baby bird since Shade in 2006...Léa's weight kept fluctuating that week, much to my dismay, although my vet did say it was perfectly normal. She did stabilize on that front during the second week and has since put on some weight!
