This girl has been so much fun. I have had her home for 3-4 weeks now and we have made a bond and good progress. She still isn't fully weaned, but she decided (she being Kyleigh) that she's going to take her time and wean when she wants. I have had to reintroduce whole foods to her because she began to completely ignore them. I am on 2-3 feeding a day, a good day is 3. She was pretty underweight when she came home, but we have gotten her weight up slowly but surely. We ended up moving, unexpectedly, which I thought would be a wrench into her progress. Thankfully, she seems much more comfortable here...bigger house..bigger backyard...bigger toys...and a higher ceiling. No complaints from her. Okay enough talking. Here is some of our flight work.

Your videos of free flight has inspired me to try it!
When mine grows back new wing feathers (as they are now clipped), i wont clip them again. Althought weve only clipped her once as we got her around 4-5 months ago :)

:11::blue1:I am amazed beautiful, I still got a few months but looking forward to it , I hope I can be a good teacher to my girl :D I haven't and don't want to clip her wings, she is just beautiful like that ... I have no idea how the clicker works :20:

You moved???? After you did such a great job fixing up her room?

I'm so happy to hear the house is bigger! But that had to have been quite stressful for all of you (except for Kyleigh, of course). :)

You are doing a marvelous job with her, Stephen!! I'm super impressed at her flying skills at such a young age! :emoticonc

What does Kyleigh weigh now?

Wow! She is really getting off to a great start with her recall training. And your new house looks gorgeous! Lots of room for a parrot to fly in:)

Most impressive, Stephen! You're doing a great job with her. And I love how you're working on her control and flight adaptability. Make sure to keep switching things up like that and she will become a very adept flier.

How's her harness training coming along?

Thanks so much folks!

Yes, all the work gone down the drain lol...but pretty worth it now. I'm just doing what I have been taught here and other places.

She weighed 838 this morning, up from the 820..which nearly gave me a panic attack lol. She's taking 3 feedings a day, eating a little pellets during the day while I am gone..and I am still introducing foods to her. A bit slower than what I was before.

That's the thing, when you start it at this age, they just soak it up like a sponge, and it becomes THE WAY WE DO THINGS.

IT'S MUCH MORE OF A STRUGGLE LATER ON IN LIFE...

All you have to do with them is pattern them correctly... and set the boundaries.

And you get the super interactive, fly to me, open up to you and everyone else birds. (Like this.)

Why more people don't do this right away amazes me...

You just press on it, and it makes a noise... :D

(CAPTAIN OBVIOUS RIDES AGAIN!)

And in my case, a greenwing then snatches it from your hand, and then it makes kind of a crunching noise... (Then it stops making any noise at all, unless you count the little pieces hitting the floor, or the sound the broom makes sweeping them into the dustpan.)

:p Sarcasm... It's both a gift, and a curse. :p

And sometimes it's a gift that gets you cursed at...
