Last summer (2013) I got my caique Kwiebuz. I think it is the best for the bird when the parrent birds feed him until he can eat by himself. But the parrents of Kwiebuz just throw him out to begin a new nest. So the breeder had two options: let him die of feed him by himself. Het choosed (luckely) the last one. But the breeder always let the parrent parrots feed the little ones and he planned a holiday. He was looking for someone who wanted a caique and knew how to feed a little one. I did that before and he gave me extra information and I had someone (a vet) who I could ask if there was a problem or a doubt.
So that is the reason why I got Kwiebuz when he was that little. Not the best way to feed a bird, but otherwise he would have died, so for the bird the best way (and everything went well without any problems)

So here some pictures of him when he was with me from the first week until he was eating by himself.

He became from a little ugly parrot to a beautiful parrot like he is now.

That's a good looking bird, and that's a fantastic name for a Caique! :)

Thank you! Kwiebuz is also a fantastic parrot. I am now sitting outside with him and it is the first time he is outside and he enjoys it very much!

Awwww.... I think he was adorable as a baby, and he's beautiful now. You did a good job with him :)

Aww, Kwiebuz is beautiful! And he was such a precious little baby:) Lucky little guy to have made it after being kicked out of his nest.

Thank you all! The most amazing thing with Kwiebuz was that he already made me laugh when he was just as small as he was when je came to live with me. He wasn't patience with eating. He tried to run when he was to small to do properly. With a full stomach running and falling and trying to jump.

One time I was fine for work for a couple of days and my mom took care of my parrots. When she came in the room she saw Kwiebuz laying on his back on the ground of his cage and wasn't moving anymore. She was in shock. What if je does while I was gone. Like 30 seconds later he jumped up and played and talked and was just fine. He was just fooling here.

Wonderful story, wonderful name, and wonderful photos! I really enjoyed this--and he is absolutely adorable! (Loved the "playing dead" story too!)

Henry also applauds the addition of another white-bellied caique to the forum. Eliza, not so much...
