Hey everyone,
I was playing around with Krueger yesterday and he was making really slow movements. He wasn't really being himself. Then he pooped, and it was very watery and the solid parts were black :( I'm bringing him to the vet in a couple hours, hoping everything will be fine. From what I've found online it says that it indicates internal bleeding. His stool today isn't black anymore, but the watery part is now green. I'm really worried about him. He's acting as his normal self at the moment, but I think something deeper is going on. I'll keep you guys updated.

Everything ended out being alright! He has a small yeast infection but that seems to be it. The vet said he looks very healthy and is in good shape. I think he cooperated very well at his first vet appointment.
I'm still not quite sure what caused the black stool, but they are healthy looking now.

Good for you! You noticed something different, took him in, and found a yeast infection in the early stages when it should be no big deal to handle. Well done! Glad he is doing ok.

Good to see you have your finger on the pulse re your birds health as SilverSage says.

If you can pick up when things are only a little off and nip it in the bud, they hopefully shouldn't progress to a major level. Well done.

Hope he's back to normal very soon.

So happy to hear that Krueger is overall healthy!! You must be so relieved! :)

Kudos to you for knowing your bird so well, for acting so quickly by taking him to the vet right away when things only seemed slightly off! :emoticonc

Glad to know Krueger has normal droppings and a very treatable issue.

Can you correlate his abnormal poop with something he ate? I've learned to "normalize" poops with certain birds when they have eaten particular foods - my TAG loves pomegranate seeds, but his poops become dark and watery for just one day.

Happy he did well at the vet!

From what I remember I don't think he ate anything out of his usual diet. I have a box with some crumbled up newspaper inside his cage, so he may have swallowed some newspaper? Not sure
