Kiwi's old t-perch was starting to get gross, and kind of wobbly. I ordered a new stainless perch several weeks ago, and it finally arrived (I knew it would take a while to ship from overseas;))! Anyways, it's very nice, and big, but not too big. Sadly, the tray got a tad dented during shipping, but not so bad as to hassle to return it (doubt Kiwi cares). What more pisses me off is they used one of those stickers that would survive a nuclear blast, so I couldn't get all of it off AND scratches up the tray trying:( Apparently in other countries, they use ankle shackles on their birds  but as I am obviously not going to be chaining Kiwi to his perch, the ankle shackle made a nice toy-holder instead!

What is this mommy? Where have you put Kiwi?!

(About a minute later after looking about a bit trepidatiously and needing mommy's reassurance)....

It's a big blue bead! Score for Kiwi!

What's that about an ankle shackle? Just think about it and I'll club you with this rattle!

It has a nice, textured steel perch for good grip

And a hook for carrying or (of I could find something) hanging

That's a nice stand. I like the 4 cups and texture on the perch. Glad Kiwi loves it!

There's only one thing better than that stand: the beautiful model sitting on it. Nice one, Kiwi.

It's so nice , and I'm just admiring Kiwi sitting on it. :)

Ha Ha [these are great :)]

Kiwi looks very pleased with his new play stand! He is a beautiful boy and so cooperative. I love the bond the two of you have.

He seems happy with the stand. It's actually a little longer than his t-perch was and has cups for food and toys;) It kind of reminds me of those hanging stands you see in old photos and movies with a parrot on it lol.

Very nice! I looked at the pic before reading and the first thing I saw was the chain and thought his foot was chained thinking "no way, she didn't" and saw the toys on the chain and laughed. Great find and he looks pleased. For the sticker have you tried soaking it with alcohol, get it soaking wet and take a plastic scrubber and use it to scrub the sticker off? We use plastic scrubbers like this to get gooey stuff off everything because they don't scratch like Brillo pads, just don't scrub too hard, let the liquid do the work. The alcohol works fast but you can use water instead.

Haha, had I tried to chain him up, the title of my post may read "Just got back from hospital after finger amputation" lol. Kiwi's rarely caged during waking hours, let alone chaining him to something:eek: I just couldn't imagine doing that!

I did not try alcohol, but I think I will try later:)

Lol, you'd think that for all the time, love and things you do for him he would be your bff, birds crack me up with their personalities.

Eucalyptus oil will get the glue off, but you'd need to do it with Kiwi somewhere else and wash it off with soapy water afterwards.

He's loving the perch! It's like a second, mini play gym. Especially when I hang it above the sink (he loves being with me in the kitchen, and of course, he's only in when I'm prepping/doing dishes, not when I'm actually cooking). I wish I had my camera this morning (took this pic yesterday)- he was running up to the wood bar, then getting back down on the perch by swinging upside down like a big bat! So cute! He was having a blast:D He seems to like when it is "swinging". Maybe he feels like he's on a tree branch blowing in the wind?

Oh, and he's loving scooting around on the frame and perching on the hook!

Kiwi is beautiful. I love how he's taken right to it. Buddy doesn't take to new things fast, new things are scary unless it's food and I'm eating it first. Sorry I am not sitting on a perch first, lol.

I would say Buddy's trepidation of new things is more normal for parrots. They tend to be a distrustful bunch and oppose change. Kiwi is an oddball and the most fearless bird I've ever met! Very little seems to scare him and he's so curious about EVERYTHING. If he can climb on it, even better! I personally think having never been flighted and finally having the freedom to do so, he is fulfilling his lifelong dream to be an incredible acroBAT (emphasis on the bat, he loves to hang upside down lol). Most bird need vet tape or a good grip of some kind, Kiwi's crawling all over smooth stainless steel, plastic play tree, various other things that one would imagine a bird having difficulty climbing... like he's got gecko toes!

If I were a bird, I would love this too! Where did you order this and how much? My Melon keeps chewing the wood perch, and I also want to replace it with a stainless steel one :)
