Seeing as it was in the 70s here yesterday:eek:, sun shining, birds chirping (the big green one was honking) I decided it was a perfect day to take Kiwi out for his first real walk in the carrier:D I've been walking him short distances down the street, but we went for about a 2 mile walk through the woods. I couldn't see him since the carrier is like a backpack, but he was sure making all kinds of squeals and whistles and grunts. He also came down with me the past 3 days to pick my hubby up from the bus station. He has really been loving that:)

I took these pics a few days ago of him in the car, but they wouldn't show up so I formatted them, and *hopefully* they work now:D

Hehe someone else noticed that. Kiwi puts up his head and neck feathers when he's happy. We call it the bell head:D

If I could without crashing, I would record the NOISES he makes in the car:eek: He has quite the assortment of "happy" noises, and they all come out when we're driving.

He thinks the steering wheel is his built in perch from which to look at cars and people so he make rude noises at ones he doesn't like.

Wish they sell those back here
I think the company shis internationally. Celltei Pak-o-Bird - the high quality light-weight carrier for your birds and parrots

Looks like he's pretty happy with his carrier!! LOVE his colors btw!

I think you should tell Kiwi to face the way he's driving though ;)

Charlie LOVES to ride in the car and he enjoys our walks but he does not have a carrier. On our walks he rides on my hand/arm and I hold his toes if he gets overexcited. The only problem with driving is keeping Charlie from eating the steering wheel. He has removed big chunks from my steering wheel as I am driving! He makes all his happy noises and is SO EXCITED to see everything. I consider it part of his rehabilitation that he meets and mingles with the public when we are out and about. He frightens the carhops sometimes because he wants to be CLOSE to them, I don't think he wants to hurt them he just wants to interact and play/ be petted by everyone. Since I have had Charlie his interactions with other people have been mostly visual. He sits on the counter at the store when we go but I have never let anyone else hold him except my son and one of my daughters. Charlie's reputation for biting makes me hesitate to let the public do more than just touch his feathers.:D

Ah! That is so wonderful! I really love the idea of that carrier, it's perfect for getting them out into the open and having comfort in knowing that they're safe. Plus, with it all decked out now, who wouldn't want to ride in that?! :D
