Since Kito has been flying all over the place and stopped his formula he lost some body weight, which was expected, but I noticed today that he seems to have lost more weight than I would have expected. Tomorrow he has his very first Vets visit, which has come a little earlier than I had hoped, I was going to take him for a check up when he was 16 weeks, then I could have him microchipped and DNA sexed. As he is only 13 weeks its a bit too long to wait, so off we go tomorrow at 5.00pm, if he falls in love with my vet then theres gonna be trouble. Bucc loves Mr Jones and will let him do anything to him, and why cos he gets special treats when he's been seen too. Wonder what Kito is gonna be making of all the fuss and pulling about. :D I'll let ya know what happenes tomorrow. Just hope that all is well and nothing to worry about. Don't I just sound so cool and calm here, I'm not I'm a nervous wreck.

Best of luck to you two. Ill also be thinking of you guys. Make sure to post how it went :D Im sure Kito is just fine though.

Well good luck at the vet. I bet everything is great with the little guy, actually he's getting to be quite a big guy!!!

Thanks guys, I think this is more for my sake, as I said I wasn't expecting him to lose quite so much weight, but he is very active. As soon as I come back I'll let you know what was said. Its 2.13 pm here, so only a few more hours before I can relax a little bit.

Yep just got back, unfortunately my vet had an emergency and had to leave, so we didn't really get to see him. He did however have a good feel over of him and say that okay he had lost a bit of weight, but its not as bad as I'm thinking, so would I go back so he could have a proper look at him.

Yes he has lost a bit more weight than is expected, but he thinks its probably due to the fact that he is never still when he is out of the cage, I just have to remember to keep food inside the cage and pop Kito back in for about 10 mins every so often so he will sit still and eat and drink. I feel a little better now, and knowing that he is going to run some tests just to be on the safe side is a comforting thought. :D Where my babies are concerned I'm a real worry wart. :D

Thats good to hear!!! If only he would sit still for a minute but what fun would that be for him and mum!!! :p

Glad to hear, Peta, we knew the little guy was ok!! Now I wish I could be more active and eat less so I could lose weight too! :p

Have to admit it is quite funny to watch him, he will fly past and grab a little food, eat it while still flying, he's never still. Hopefully this way it will just get him to sit and eat nicely :D and then be able to put a bit more weight on him.

Maybe u could jump on the band wagon and bring out a fitness video "FLAP AWAY THE FLAB" everyone else is making a mint out of theirs. You could fund a rescue centre for birdies.
Get a spot on Sky "The daily Dander" handy hint on recycling bird poop.
The benefits of a healthy vent. Come on guys we could all be famous.
I could prepare a parrot word search. Peta could be the agony aunt.
We could do centre folds ..pin ups.. even a top shelf issue for the parrotophiles. Wheres Red?
