My dear Kelly passed away this morning around 10 AM. It was quick, and she did not suffer at all thankfully. I am finding things to be very quiet now with my six other bird cages and I keep thinking about her. I also have a emptiness feeling inside. This post is in remembrance of Kelly rose, Blue Front Amazon.

I'm very sorry to hear such bad news...

So sorry to hear that. Was it unexpected?

Yes, very. I gave her a new toy yesterday afternoon but I don't think that contributed to her death. I examined her after but couldn't find where the blood came from. She fell to the bottom of her cage and within a minute had passed.

I offer your Kelly this Pray: “Passing of a Feathered Friend,”

As the Thread: I love Amazons - ..., will exist far beyond my involvement in All Things Amazon. I believe that like the leading Segment in that Thread, a lasting testimony to the Amazons that have shared our home, expanded our Love, and Understanding of Amazons should be part of that work.

It is not an issue of not wanting to visit and more importantly providing words of support as part of the Bereavement Forum, but my own difficultly in fully facing our many losses over the years. It is a reality of what we have committed ourselves too and each loss returns us to that clarity. When one opens their home to the very sick and very poorly cared for, losses are part of the commitment. I ask not forgiveness, but understanding of not often enough in sharing other member's grief. For you and those of others who loss a Loving Feather Family Member, I offer you this Pray “Passing of a Feathered Friend,” that we provide our Loved Ones!

May Pease find and stand with you as part of your loss my friends…

Passing of a Feathered Friend
Provided By: Steven (SailBoat), November 2016

“All of us feel such deep sadness when our Parrot friends die, and because they are Animals and not Humans, we are at a loss for words. Often, it is only other Parrot owners who can understand the Depth of the Loss that we feel with this Complex, Loyal, and Loving Creature. Resulting from such a loss, I have placed feelings and emotions into words and found verse to console the loss of my Cleo and since her, other sweet Amazons, in turn; I hope it will speak for you and all other Parrot Forum Members.” - Steven

- You left this world so quickly. I can hardly comprehend your leaving. Yet there, in my hands, your still body rested — no longer your home. So much I have learned, so much you have taught, your purpose a full measure beyond your size. Comprehensions of your loss still a mist but yet, I know you are whole and happy - now beyond Rainbow Bridge. And so busy you must be upon your green wings, guiding Angles to those of us yet to cross. With in my ear, I still hear you, those special sweet sounds of comfort and contentment:

- “Do not stand by my grave and weep my dear friend.
I am not here. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the gentle summer rain.
When you wake in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry my dear friend.
I am not there. I did not die.”

My pray for you my beloved feathered friend:

- “May your body nourish this earth.
May your soul find release and contentment.
May you fly high and free upon green wings of spirit.
Rest in peace my little green one.”

- The love and tender warmth of you is an un-full-fill-able void.
I do so much thank-you for creating a space for another, a special place next to yours’.

In remembrance of Cleo, (Estimated) Spring 1959 - May 2003

My heart hurts for you,and all of those who were touched by Kelly's beauty and presence.
R.I.P. dearest girl...

My deepest condolences for your loss of Kelly. May her memories comfort you after the shock of a sudden loss.

I agree the new toy was an unlikely cause, but you may wish to discard out of an abundance of caution. You might consider a necropsy by a certified avian vet if you believe more insight would help the grieving process.

Kelly passed away while safe and loved and treasured.
I only hope that I can give that wonderful gift to the Rickeybird when the time comes.
You and Kelly will be in my thoughts and prayers and I know this community says the same.
Rest in the arms of eternity, Kelly.

I am so very sorry for your loss:( What a beautiful girl she was. My heart goes out to you.

I just lost a lil feathered loved one myself.. gosh I know how much it hurts. I am not eloquent of tongue as some folks are, just know I share your pain. There seems to me that sharing ones life with these very special creatures can form a much deeper bond than other companion animals. Perhaps its because they are so much more like us in spite of such differences. I'm grieving beside you.

I want to send you love and feathered hugs...im so sorry to hear of your loss..its never easy. I often find myself talking about doolie..my yna who passed...we are here for you...

They say we are not truly gone until our name is spoken for the last time. Speak Kelly's name often, with love and remembrance of the joy she shared with you, and she will live on forever.

We all know your grief, and share your sorrow, as many of us have been where you are now. It is an awful place to be but, in time, the dark clouds will pass, leaving only the shining, happy memories of her time with you. Poignancy will remain, of course, but the contentment of times past will reign.

Deepest condolences for your loss of a beautiful companion, I'm so very sorry.
