I don't have a bird yet, but my son and his girlfriend have had a cockatiel for ten years. Keiko and his human mom lived with me for a couple years while my son was in college, and I get to birdysit him when they travel.

When they visit he always helps me reorganize my bathroom cabinet (by throwing everything onto the floor :ROFLMAO:)

And checks the top of my refrigerator for cleanliness

And plays hide and seek from all over the house

And keeps an eye on the neighboring cardinals in the morning

I wanted to post about him (with the kids' permission!) because I'm just so proud of how they've raised him - he vomited on the weekend and they took him to an emergency vet. By the time they got there, he was seeming back to normal but they kept him for observation and some testing. When they picked him up, the vet said he was the best socialized cockatiel he'd seen! Apparently Keiko was talking and singing to everyone that said hello to him, and when they needed to handle him he stepped up no problem and stood calmly for his exams! He's such a confident, happy guy and I'm so lucky he counts me as part of his flock!

He even has his own Magic the Gathering card :D

I just love him so much :) 1645826656339.png1645826728447.png1645826819032.png1645826957933.png1645827025923.png

Oh wow, Keiko is such a handsome boy! I'm so glad he recovered from his brush with illness too 🙏

Love the "Magic" card as well, surely there would be no more towering and magnificent presence on the battlefield than Keiko!

What a wonderful birby…he stands with poise and confidence! I can see how he is so lovable. Kudos to you, your son, and girlfriend-in-law…you have raised a very well-adjusted birby! This portends well for grandchildren to come…😉

Keiko! Amazing 👏
That mirror picture! I think he is saying yep I'm the best birb in town!

I'm so glad he got to join our flock!!!
I'm in love!

He's not allowed mirrors or nesty things at home, so when he visits he always sneaks into my bathroom to gleefully open the mirrors and claim space 😆
