I am going to be picking up the cockatiel that was found across town.

I am happy to continue looking for its rightful owner. If that fails I will keep it.

How long do you think I should look for its owner? Should I keep it away from my flock so they dont get attached?

If I decide enough time has passed and I integrate it then I find the owner

How bad could that affect mine. Especially Jet.

If I dont take it they will give it to someone else who may not continue to look for the owner.

Keep him quarantined, incase of bugs etc :) There's owners of a missing IRN on our equiv. of craigslist who have been desperately seeking him for 6 months now, so I'm no help with the rest, sorry!

Hey Grace! I see you've decided to adopt the little lost bird. You must be excited, I love cockatiels too. I won't try to talk you out of it, but please be aware of the chance you're taking. If it isn't possible to quarantine the bird, I'm glad to see you're scheduling a vet visit. Here's a link with some illnesses you should be particularly aware of.

I wish you the best. Please let us know how this story unfolds.

Hes here. Hes beautiful. He looks to be in perfect feather and health. He is in the best quarantine I can achieve. One concern he has black rings around his nares. Will post pics soon.

Thank you, I was drumming my fingernails wondering what happened to our pics. Then I remembered Grace has a new flock member. You're forgiven.

I got a new phone and couldn't get on internet with it. Then I couldn't log in from this phone. Finally figured it all out.
