A double yellow headed Amazon Keegan and a parakeet Milo
My new Amazon Keegan is having a very hard time gettting along with my female Timneh gray Tilly. Tilly sits up on her cage snarling at him and staring him down , it drives him nuts. I have their cages a little over 4 feet apart and working on a space so they can be even farther apart. I've been careful about not having them out of their cages at the same time. He has flown over to her cage and chased her around for a second before I got to him. But today I was sitting with him on my lap and my dog came and he lunged at her, nothing serious just a warm but Tilly thought He had lunged at her because it was in her direction and came charging at him ,she is about 3 feet away at this point. He flew into her cage and chased her around jumped on her and oh the screaming from the both of them, I thought he was ripping her head off. I held myself together and managed to catch him with a blanket and calmly hauled him back to his cage and shut the door and said that was naughty, he looked like it hurt his feelings. Tilly was fine, she looked pretty mad but just went back to eating. Now mister green stinker is in timeout, so I can get my hands to stop shaking. Will this stop? Keegan has been here for two weeks, so I know it's going to take some time for everyone to get used to each other. But it was so scary today.
