My new Amazon Keegan is having a very hard time gettting along with my female Timneh gray Tilly. Tilly sits up on her cage snarling at him and staring him down , it drives him nuts. I have their cages a little over 4 feet apart and working on a space so they can be even farther apart. I've been careful about not having them out of their cages at the same time. He has flown over to her cage and chased her around for a second before I got to him. But today I was sitting with him on my lap and my dog came and he lunged at her, nothing serious just a warm but Tilly thought He had lunged at her because it was in her direction and came charging at him ,she is about 3 feet away at this point. He flew into her cage and chased her around jumped on her and oh the screaming from the both of them, I thought he was ripping her head off. I held myself together and managed to catch him with a blanket and calmly hauled him back to his cage and shut the door and said that was naughty, he looked like it hurt his feelings. Tilly was fine, she looked pretty mad but just went back to eating. Now mister green stinker is in timeout, so I can get my hands to stop shaking. Will this stop? Keegan has been here for two weeks, so I know it's going to take some time for everyone to get used to each other. But it was so scary today.

I hope it does! I have two that don't get along, and it has mellowed at five months now. I can hold them both, but otherwise they can't be near each other

Smokey (TAG) tormented Amy for twenty-eight years..until the day Smokey passed away...

Some birds just never get along, especially with adults you just never know who they like or don't like. Best to keep them separated (one in cage CLOSED/LOCKED) when the other is out, so there's absolutely no chance of them charging at each other in a situation like this.

I'm keeping one out at a time, keeps everyone calm. Boy can Tilly get Keegan fired up. Wow can Tilly swear, when everything calmed down yesterday she sat at her perch cussing him out. The bird has a mouth like a sailor and no she did not learn it from me.

OMG, that is so funny. I guess she lived with a sailor with a peg leg LOL. Mine only says one bad word, and I admit, he got it from me. When I drive, everyone is an a**hole.

I have a 36 year old BFA. I also used to have an OWA, whom Sam hated with a passion. He would not leave Rocky alone no matter where in the house he was. He hunted him down and beat him up every chance he got. Sam is a really big bird, and Rocky was petite, so he always bore the brunt of the attacks. Finally, we had to have Rocky go live with my father. He really liked my father, so it worked out. Rocky passed away at age 48 about 5 years ago. Sam is still going strong!

Hopefully, your two can learn to deal with each other and not fight. Good luck!

It never ceases to amaze me how she knows in what context to swear. I sneeze she gasps and jumps and wow the names she calls me. Elliot the other Timneh bites me, I say "ow ow let me go!" Tilly answers with " you let go you blankety blank!!" Once again did not learn it at this house
