Kazi - 13 yr old yellow nape amazon rescue
It's been 4 months since I brought Kazi home and everyone always comments on how amazing he looks now so I thought I'd post a couple of then and now pics so you guys could see it too.

It's been a long road and sometimes an exceedingly frustrating and painful one, but we've come a long way in the past 4 months. From a shy, fearful, quiet bird, to a playful, bossy, raucous green menace afraid of nothing. The transformation is pretty remarkable and he's turning into a really great little friend.

Holy crap he looks amazing!! great job:) thank you for helping him!

Wow he sure has made a big transformation! Looking gorgeous! He's lucky to have you! :)

Wow! What an amazing difference in only 4 months time!

Amazing job, very well done. He's gorgeous.

Oh my goodness! What a difference! I didn't realize you'd had him such a short amount of time. I saw that video you posted a while back, and I assumed you'd had him for a long time. Go you!

In only 4 months? Wow! He's gorgeous! I can't believe how fast he recovered. Its taken 10 years to get my parent's Severe Macaw to stop chewing her feathers completely, and it took us 4 months just to get her to step up for us. I wish there were more people in the world like you! The transformation is an inspiration to all owners with rescued, or problem birds. Bravo!

thanks, everyone! I've worked really hard with him. I'm thrilled I was able to stop the plucking. He's still chewing on the ends of his feathers, but not as many or as often, so I have hope that will stop eventually too.

I'm just amazed almost every day that his previous owner was going to put him to sleep because of the plucking/chewing when he was doing it because she'd locked him in a back room away from everyone and everything. He's just so smart and sweet and funny. She had no idea the treasure she was about to throw away. I'm grateful the rescue director heard about him and was able to save him. (No thanks to that witch, she actually told him, "If you come RIGHT NOW, I won't put him to sleep, but you have to come now." And he did.)

That is amazing, and I never would have known he was the same bird. Obviously he loves you very much and is very happy you adopted him!

Yes, you have to be very happy with the changes you've seen! Great job and I bet he's much happier with you too!

He definitely came to the right home... Well done!
