Hello all. I just googled for a parakeet forum and you guys were the top result. Looking for some advice and guidance. I'll create a separate topic to explain my situation but i've basically stumbled into caring for a bird. I'm an animal lover who is pretty knowledgeable in exotic pet care. I'm a huge fish nerd, longtime reptile breeder, but I've never kept a bird. I'm here to hopefully learn from people more knowledgeable than me who can help me out!

My name is Mike, Hello!

Hello, and welcome!

Here are some links we often hand out to bird-"finders"...

Good for you, for caring!

I also just sent you our "Welcome Letter" that has general information on bird care and forum routines...

I'm glad you're here.

The first link doesn't work, Galeria.
OP- Have you tried Parrot911 etc (and posted on Facebook)?

As in found chilling on a random sidewalk in the town center

Thanks for taking him to safety! Please try everything possible to find his family before you just decide to keep him. Some family may be devastated m, missing their friend.

Parrot911, local Facebook lost pet groups, avian/exotic vets, the Next Door app are all good places to check.

In the meantime-please be aware that nonstick cookware can be fatal, as can candles, wax melts, air fresheners, chemical cleaners, cigarette smoke, vape vapor (not sure what else to call it). Little fellow will need pellets and a little seed and fresh veggies and a little fruit.

Yea I've been looking through parrot 911, looking out on craigslist, and I left my name and number with local PD, animal shelter, and animal control. If I could find his owner that would be ideal. But I want to ensure he's well cared for for as long as that takes
