Just got another GCC!

I've really been wanting another green cheek to keep mango company for awhile now. I finally pulled that trigger and got a Turquoise conure! They are kind of getting along but mango has been the aggressor of the two. I have two
separate cages and was wondering if I should house them together right from the start?

any other advice is appreciated!

They will be much tamer if they are housed separately. Greencheeks can get aggressive if housed together.

Yes I agree with thebirdnerd that they can be aggressive to you and or each other. :/ actually that happens every time sorry

It is possible to house them together but it's not recommended if they don't get along.

When getting a second bird anyway, it's often recommended to house them in a separate cage anyway and quarantine them from your current bird(s) until you are sure that the new bird is healthy and wont get your first one(s) sick.

thanks for all the advice! I've been letting them interact when I'm home but they're still sleeping in separate cages. any idea on when it's okay for them to move in together?

When mine were still sleeping in separate cages, I would let them play on top of both cages, with the doors open...and they would both climb in and out, eating together, playing, etc. After a few days of this, I put them both in the big flight cage and closed the doors, and kept watch...they were fine!

if they were both getting along I think it would be fine but in this case I believe that should be kept separate. when you have 'play time', slowly start introducing them to eachother and go from there. if their mood continues just keep them separated.
