I am not terrible at names, it just takes me a while to find one that fits any of my animals. My youngest SI male is almost 6 weeks and I have been calling him baby or sweet baby boy but after thinking about your suggestion I have decided to name him Jackson, my other SI are Jillie and Jolly so it makes perfect sense and sounds good together to have another "J" name.

The new rescue Red Sided boy has been re-named Gomez, and the rescued RS girl will remain Lola because she says it A LOT! (If I thought I could get away with it I would change it to Ginger) cuz' she is hot and spicy!
My other Red sided girl's name is Gidget. So thank you for your great suggestion, it fits my little green man well.:D

Awww yay that's awesome!! :D:D:D
I'm not *bad* at names, but now that I look at it they're easy to mix up.. Kiwi, Loki, Yoshi.. haha. They all *sound* the same. But oh well!
I'm super excited you've decided to name him Jackson, I'm sure he'll flourish and thrive wonderfully under your care! (And hopefully the biting will subside, yeah? )

You have them mixed up the biting one is the new RS rescue that I re-named Gomez, my youngest SI is the one I decided to name Jackson, he doesn't bite at all is very much the cuddly baby!

Last night we had a HUGE break through with Gomez he didn't shake at all when I had him out and also didn't immediately want back to his cage. He sat on my hand talking to me and even allowed me to kiss him on the beak. His bites have always been more pressure, as in please don't push me, so we have taken it slow but he showed an interest in me even when I first met him so I knew I could win him over.

Lola and I are having the most difficulty adjusting, she seems to slowly be coming around to me, it helps that she likes my husband. But she is the one who has turned my hands in to minced meat. I really would like to re-name her as well to remove any remnants of her old life but she says Lola so often I am unsure if I should.

Ohhh okay.. My bad hehe. Lola is the one you were thinking was quite bonded to the "high class" woman who purchased her, yeah? Poor sweetie. Hopefully she'll come around and realize you make her feel much better(nutritionally, and cage-wize) than the woman who wanted to use her as a decoration.

And I'm happy to hear of your progress with Gomez!! Sounds like he *wants* to like you, but at the same time he's just really cautious hehe. Must be a busy life with your flock of Ekkies, eh? Haha. Sounds wonderful though in my opinion. I love being able to keep myself occupied with my birds :)

Yes I do think Gomez will come around he is already showing great progress with interacting with me, playing with toys and he LOVES the food here, baths are still taken with some trepidation but I think once he sees the others enjoying it so much he will learn to like them as well.

I did buy a separate cage for Lola so that I could keep them apart as together they were more interested in each other than bonding with me. Lola was bonded to the previous owner because she did interact with her while completely ignoring the male which I really think helped me because he was starved for attention.

My days are full of cooking, sprouting, bath time, cleaning and play but I do love it and I have come up with a system that works where everyone gets equal time and attention.

Lola did step up for me this morning without nailing me, she maybe realizing that I am as tenacious as her and won't back down. She may also be thinking that there are no new places left on my hand to bite but whatever the reason I'll take it.:p

I do apologize if this post seemed to be directed to one person, I just wanted to thank her for the name suggestion and make sure she saw the post, not trying to alienate anyone else. :)
