just a few toys!

i just made these for some of the fids....


i made this one awhile ago, out of plastic 1/2" mesh, folded into a pouch and stuffed with timothy hay (clean, its what we feed our chinchillas lol) and some foot toys and almonds (our tiels will do anything for almonds, they're the favourite foraging treat for them!)




these ones though i just made tonight.

just a simple "bell" out of beads and a plastic sample cup lol




a card toy. simple, but mango absolutely loves these, so i had to make a replacement lol




and a more complex toy, i call it an "everything" toy, because its basically a jumbled mess of recycled toy parts and has something of everything. foraging, chewing, shredding, etc. this one is for the tiels' playgym






and then just a simple foraging box, holes cut in it, filled with Hagen Tropimix and some of their usual pellets and some pony beads. just for the cage floor, nothing overly special, but the tiels love to forage, so i make simple foraging things to satisfy their foraging love lol

we collect them, but we dont play the card game, so the useless cards, or cards we have doubles of--they go to the birds lol plus my friend also gives us some of her useless cards too. mango goes nuts for them!

looks great! do your teils acually crack open the almonds? i tried to give cooper an almond in the shell and he couldnt do anything. the biggest thing he can open by himself is pistachios(and that happened for the first time yesterday....)

they're almonds without the shell, the tiels wouldnt be able to crack the almonds if they were in a shell lol
