4 Cockatiels 2 males Chicken Little & Charlie, 2 Females Chiquita and Sweet pea. Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure -Franklin and our now tame, rescued feral Pigeon - Belle.
So we've only had Chicken Little since the end of March, when we got him he was a ugly, malnourished, scared to death, wild as all get out pied Cockatiel we felt sorry for. (you can see current pictures in my profile page, there are 3 albums. He's really blossomed!)

Now, I know you are not supposed to buy pets because you feel sorry for them, but we couldn't be enjoying him more and I think we've found our little "diamond in the rough" and HE is a very grateful bird.

In just 3 short months this bird has come a LONG LONG LONG ways and TALK!!

Within 3 weeks he was saying "pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty birrrrrdieee!" Wolf Whistling, Kissing, clucking and chattering and last night my husband and I were talking and so was Chicken Little (Chicken for short) I was 1/2 listening to my husband and 1/2 listening to Chicken, then I realized he's saying something new, not just a bunch of mumbo jumbo...which he also does a lot of.

My husband could tell I was distracted and looked at me, looking at Chicken and Chicken said it again...I said...THAT'S IT! Listen! Honey, He's saying...

"Chicken Little!"

So my husband heard him, and then we said back to him "Chicken Little!" And Chicken responded with

"Chicken Little, **kiss** Pretty Pretty Pretty Pretty Pretty Birrrrrdieeee, **wolf whistle** Chicken Little."

I'm going to have to try to get his on video for you all to hear, he's only about 6 months old and I think for a Cockatiel...is developing a pretty extensive vocabulary.

Our new Conure, Franklin is also picking up Chicken's language, Franklin is only 3 months old and we've had him only 3 weeks and already he's saying "Pretty Pretty Pretty Pretty Pretty Birrrrrrdie!" Not in a gruff, gravelly conure voice either...he's sounding very similar to our 'tiel.

At night when Franklin goes to bed, he'll softly say to himself...pretty pretty pretty pretty **wolf whistle** and repeat.

LOVE LOVE LOVE our birds!

Have a great day everyone :)
