Joint Compound VOC

Is there any VOCs or fumes in Joint Compound? It’s like a plaster and takes forever to dry. I made a shelf with it that looks like it was carved from rock, I want to know if it does put out fumes how long do I have to let it air out?

I do not think it does. Once dried out, its pretty inert stuff.

I agree, to my knowledge it is water base product. Like drywall, not recommend for Parrots to chew on!
