Have just come back from the vets today and had more blood work done. Have got the results of those and her Kidney values are up once again.
After thinking and talking to the vet today, we have come to the arrangement that we will try some new tablets which work alongside the Metacam,
The tablets are called Seraquin and are nearly as good as Metacam, we are hoping that we can lower the dosage of Metacam and maybe just keep her on the tablets. But we'll have to see how things go. If they don't give her the same kind of pain relief we are going to keep her on the Metacam, and go for the better quality, but the shorter lifespan. How long that will give us with her we don't know but at 16½ years old she's had a good life. All the other treatments that were suggested just wouldn't be viable for her. We will continue to have regular blood work, every 6 weeks, and when the time comes the vet has promised me she will tell me, before Jess starts to suffer.
Although the outcome isn't great, its the best we've got, and we get to have her for a little while longer, pain free and happy, well happy until tomorrow that is when she is due for yet another bath, and she hates that as she can't get comfortable in the tub anymore, but hey the shampoo is really helping her skin.
