I got Jeeve's blood test results back earlier in the week. High white blood cell count but nothing else too abnormal.

I got Jeeves's cultures back today and the infection is caused by Ecoli. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that one.

Vet's suppose to send me some estimates on a sinus flush (with sedation) and more xrays to get a better look.

By the way for anyone who looks for cheap, or free birds. Jeeves cost me 150.00 and his vet bills currently are a little over 700.00 (Including his rescuers first check up)

Safira, e-coli is a very common bacteria in companion birds...and there are many different strains...some never bother you & are resident flora in their bodies & ours.....

Thank you for the link, I'll read up on it!

Hopefully between me and the vet we can clear it out of Jeeves. The poor boy sounds all stuffed up.

It sounds like it isn't to severe and can be fixed just fine. Respiratory issues are usually short lived in most birds I've seen them in(with proper treatment and care). And safaria on the point of cheap birds we get the question at the rescue...why does it cost that much it was free to you? Well exactly the reason you stated we out hundreds of dollars into vet care and a cage and toys and food so really we make nothing. Thanks for bringing it up:)
