Jasper hasn't even moved in completely. We have the cages pushed together so he can go back and forth. Already he is acting more cockatoo like. As you can see the new cage isn't perfect but inexpensive and much better than his old.

Follow up question: what do you do/use to replace perches on the play top?

Nice! Who needs those bowls anyway? :)
I have similar cages. I have a large dome cage his original. My Vet said it could house a macaw. Ha :D and I got a second smaller playtop for our bedroom. After trying multiple options including a java play tree etc... He wasn't happy w/ any of it. He finally took to the playtop cage. So when we're hanging in the bedroom he can be happy hanging w/ us.
I like your's a lot it has the two bars on top, mine only has one. I found it on Amazon and I'm very happy w/ it. It's definitely too small as a primary cage, but that's not why I got it.

I tried to post it here, but it's appearing very large. If you want to see it, it's on my page in the 'Levi' photo album.

Jasper looks active and happy. Won't be long till those original perches are shredded. I use harder wood cage perches, attached by drilling holes and securing with nut/bolt. Any suitable toy is workable as they generally love play tops. One of my Goffins created a toy by placing a long section of plastic chain inside a metal bowl. He loves the clinking sound of rattling it around the bowl.

LOL OMG! Ya Jasper is a typical 'Too..lol... Even Jonesy my Goffins and no problem pulling those stainless cups from the holders and dropping them...I think he just liked the noise they created when crashing to the floor...boy oh boy did that PMO! :p

Jasper looks like a very happy and healthy 'too :)

My Stewie goes through wood dowels in like 15 mins. His new favorite toy is a 2 x 4.
i cut them about 2 foot long & I place one in his cage in the morning around 730 & its completely shredded by the time I get home at 530.
Last week he manged to get the food door open & got out, he stripped a whole doors molding
